Being Open Creates Magic in Your Vegan Eating
Welcome to the fun, expansive, and vibrant world of vegan eating.
Delicious. Abundant. Vibrant. Healthy. Balanced. Freeing. Fun. Variety. Flexible. Colorful. These are the words that I think of when I describe vegan eating.
The possibilities and options of vegan eating are endless, and I know that can be overwhelming. It can also be empowering.
When I first went vegan in 2010, so many more eating choices opened up to me. It was so fun to explore, and I was ecstatic that I found out a way of eating that would work for me.
Imagine going vegan now. There’s even more options today. Aside from whole plant foods, I find that balanced, healthy, and flexible vegan eating also includes vegan processed foods and vegan treats.
I went from being newly vegan not even trying any vegan processed foods and only eating whole plant foods, to trying sugar-free, oil-free, and then eating so much fruit to now being more open than ever before.
More open to different vegan foods. More open to different ways to prepare foods. More open to different vegan recipes. At this point, as long as it’s vegan, I’ll try it. Being more open has changed my life.
1.) I never get bored of what I eat or get in a food rut.
2.) I don’t ever miss out on anything.
3.) It’s so much fun.
4.) I’m more well versed in different tastes and flavors.
5.) I eat such a variety that there’s always something new or different to try.
That’s abundant. That’s freeing. That’s thriving. That’s exciting. That’s living.
So, how do you get more open? You start with first realizing that the possibilities in vegan eating are unlimited. You give yourself more space and time to try new and different things in your vegan eating. You don’t get stuck on deciding what to eat because you know what you like while also like exploring.
Three things you can do to get this going: try vegan recipes you haven’t tried before that you want to try, try a food you like or love with something else in a combo you’ve never had, and prepare foods in ways you haven’t prepared them yet. This all becomes magical.
Being open expands my creativity to try more, to explore more, and to create my own recipes, ways, and combos to have different vegan foods.
Being open introduced me to one of my absolute favorite seasonings: smoked paprika. I would maybe have never even tried smoked paprika or know what it is if I wasn’t open to trying a recipe one day that included it. You just never know.
Let your curiosity and your creativity be parts of you that lead the way sometimes. Lean into those.
If you try something that you’re curious about, and you end up not liking it, at least you know now. That actually gets you closer to things that you do like and work for you. If you use your creativity and come up with something new and different for you to eat, that opens up more variety and expansiveness to you.
There’s always something for you to try. Staying open in your vegan eating to new and different things will empower and free you.
