What comes to your mind when you hear the words, indestructible, unbreakable, and durable?
The strength and powerful impact these words represent can describe your foundation for vegan eating. If you want to have an everlasting and complete foundation for your vegan eating that you can build, grow, and improve upon, you’ll need a few things.
Strip everything down to start anew.
First, you need to fuel your mind with love for yourself, and be mindful of the words you use when you think or talk about your eating. Everything starts with the mind. So, make your mindset support and lead the way to your strong vegan eating foundation.
Next, you need to know what your likes, preferences, flavors, and tastes are regarding food. Think of your favorite staples and your go-to reliable foundational foods as a part of this.
Then, you need to know how to create properly balanced and complete vegan meals and snacks. This means including the components of protein, carbs, fat, and color (fruits and/or vegetables) each time you eat. The amounts and frequency is unique and individual to you that you will know for yourself after experimenting and playing.
Once you’ve found what works best for you that you like, you need to keep expanding and exploring with your eating. What’s something you want to try that you haven’t had? What’s a different way that is new to you to prepare a food? What’s a recipe that you’re looking forward to trying?
After that, give yourself space for your extra eats to fit into your eating. It’s ok if it doesn’t have any nutritional value. It’s ok if it’s a treat for you. It’s ok if you eat it for pleasure and not nourishment. These foods can fit, too, when you make room for them in your eating. You don’t have to limit or restrict yourself because you’re eating other things, too.
Finally, make sure to eat an abundant variety. This can be whole plant foods, vegan processed foods, and vegan treats. You’ll never get bored or feel like you’re missing out, and you’ll get what you need when you eat a variety.
These make up the strong foundation of balanced vegan eating giving you a big part of the way to confidence, empowerment, and freedom with your vegan eating.
That’s always worth it.
